Mastering Recursion With C

Sum Of Subsets

Level 2 Medium Recursion Questions

In this video, we’ll explore how to print the sums of all possible subsets of a given array using recursion. A subset of an array is any combination of its elements, including the empty subset.

The function works by:

  • Choosing each element in the array, and

  • Exploring one of two choices for that element:

    • Include it in the current subset sum, or

    • Exclude it from the current subset sum.

The base case occurs when we reach the end of the array, at which point we print the current sum, which could be the sum of an empty subset (0) or the sum of one of the possible subsets.
